ORDER ESTABLISHING AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON THE MAINE FAMILY RULES

Effective September 21, 2018

All of the Justices concurring, a Family Rules Advisory Committee is hereby established:

  1. Establishment of the Family Rules Advisory Committee. A committee with at least ten members shall act as the Family Rules Advisory Committee.
  2. Membership. The Chair and members of the Committee shall be appointed by order of the Supreme Judicial Court and serve at the pleasure of the Court.
  3. Terms. The members of the Committee shall serve for three-year terms, except as follows. The Court shall appoint committee members for initial terms as follows:
  4. (a) Nine members for initial three-year terms; and
    (b) Two members for initial two-year terms.

    Members in good standing and attendance may be reappointed to the Committee, but no member shall be appointed to more than three successive terms, in addition to any partial terms. Members shall continue to serve until a successor is appointed, and appointments to fill a vacancy shall be for the balance of the existing term.

  5. New Members. A committee having been created by the Court, the Court hereby appoints the following members to serve on the Family Rules Advisory Committee:

    Lisa Chmelecki, Esq., Portland
    Lucia Chomeau Hunt, Esq., Portland
    Kenneth Marass, Esq., Springvale
    Jeremy Marden, Esq., Belfast
    Matthew Morgan, Esq., Augusta
    Zack Paakkonen, Esq., Portland
    Elyse Segovias, Esq., Lewiston
    Angela Thibodeau, Esq., Wells
    Anthony Trask, Esq., Bangor
    Judge Daniel Driscoll shall serve as Chair of the Committee.
    Debby L. Willis, Esq. shall serve ex officio as the Attorney General's designee.
    Judge Daniel Driscoll, as the District Court Chief Judge designee
    Family Law Magistrate Brianne Martin shall serve as the Trial Court Liaisons to the Committee.
    Associate Justice Ellen A. Gorman shall serve as Supreme Judicial Court Liaison to the Committee.
