The Judicial Branch Violations Bureau handles traffic tickets for the entire State of Maine through a centralized process. As used here, the term "traffic violation" refers to non-criminal offenses also called traffic "infractions."
Because many traffic tickets are issued by hand, there may be a processing delay from the time you receive a ticket until it is available in the Odyssey Portal. Before attempting to pay or take other action on your ticket online, make sure the ticket is in the system.
You may also pay, contest, or take other action concerning your case:
- By mail;
- In person at the Violations Bureau window at the Lewiston District Court; or
- At the courthouse on the date your traffic trial is scheduled (if you have submitted a response to your ticket contesting a violation).
