Construction to Begin at Cumberland County Courthouse

The aging HVAC system at the Cumberland County Courthouse (CCCH) in Portland is scheduled to be replaced beginning Monday, March 31, 2025, through September 2025. The building is expected to remain open to the public during construction, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Construction will necessitate changes in courtroom assignments and events. Temporary courtrooms will be set up in the courthouse, alternative court locations, and additional remote court sessions will be scheduled to minimize disruption as much as possible. The Judicial Branch is working on a plan to maintain normal operations to the extent possible and will release additional details when they are final.
