Agreement Finalized to Relocate New Hancock Judicial Center

The Maine Judicial Branch announced today that it has entered into a Courthouse Collaboration Agreement with the City of Ellsworth and Mrs. Alice Wardwell to relocate the new Hancock Judicial Center from a site on Surry Road to a new site near High Street in Ellsworth. The new site is a 17.9-acre portion of land owned by Mrs. Wardwell near High Street. Under the agreement, Mrs. Wardwell will receive the 17.9-acre Surry Road parcel acquired by the Judicial Branch in 2024 for construction of a new Judicial Center.
